================================================ Subject: Re: A Compromise From: "Debbi R" To: Date: Thu 12 Jul 2001 21:57:21 -0700 ================================================ For me it wasn't the issue of forwarding, or even rules but the lack of consistency to which all of this stuff was being mentioned. It's not a huge secret that I'm pretty much against all forms of censorship on unmoderated lists. But I'd ask that any form of it would at least be applied evenly to everyone - It's when it doesn't that trouble happens... Cliques form, people are ganged up on, etc. Basically really sucky. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Keith Mears Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2001 9:48 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: A Compromise I'll agree (that klunk we just heard was Jon's head hitting the keyboard) that the post was well put, and that all the listers should be respected. The problem for me is the idea of moderating (any more than we already are by the list OWNER's rules) an unmoderated list by a disgruntled list member. I know there are some people (haven't forgotten about you Dimplz!) who will remember a couple weeks ago, I came out pretty vocally against the forwarding of jokes to the list. The difference between that and the issue at hand (especially considering Ross's litany of blonde jokes) is that the jokes were forwarded in clear violation of a posted rule. Also, I wasn't necessarily trying to moderate, just making a point in a larger thread.
