Gun? No... but I've been tempted to carry pictures of some of the calls I've been on... like the one I just wrote about... or the parents that didn't have a gate at the top of their stairs ("Oh, he's old enough to go up and down them himself now"... yep... went down VERY well... and very quickly... one that comes to mind was a broken arm, and broken leg... guess gravity didn't tell him that there was a turn at the bottom of the stairs as he fell down them)... swimming pool (need I say more?). Been to a tractor rollover, but it was an older gentleman... he actually came through alright... a lot of cuts and bruises, but it threw him *most* of the way out of range of the tractor... pinned him pretty good... but amazingly he came out alright. I'd love to carry pictures of it all (would feel insensitive pulling out a camera in the middle of the call, mind you), but I wouldn't get a gun for it... Now the neighbors... for THEM I might consider a firearm... a couple shots through the living room wall, right into the back of their damn stereo... now THAT would be a worthy use of a gun. Ask Tara sometime... she'll vouch. ¤]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[¤ http://NightStorm.isyourgod.com/ NightStorm_Draco_@hotmail.com NightStorm_Draco@creedlist.com NightStorm@isyourgod.com I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine, Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind Human pride sings a vengeful song Inspired by the times you've been walked on My stage is shared by many millions, Who lift their hands up high because they feel this We are one We are strong, The more you hold us down the more we press on What if you did? There's a family that lives about 3 miles down the road from me who regularly let their 10-year old mow the lawn, on a John Deere TRACTOR that's bigger than my car! It's like they don't care that lawnmower accidents are the FOURTH LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH among children under the age of 14. ----- Original Message ----- From: ]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[ To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2001 1:09 AM Subject: Re: NCR Ozzfest and other concerts I was actually kinda surprised myself. The radio station that sponsored it, like I said before, only plays Top 40 hits... so of course you know that 90% of it is pop music. So to hear Def Leppard, Bruce Springsteen, and such, it was kind of a nice twist. Of course, now it's back to everyday stuff. I probably would have enjoyed it all so much more if the Firefighter in me wasn't watching all these little kids (we're talking 6 and 7 year olds) running around with fireworks and a lighter. One kid there, with his parents in the car parked behind us, had one of those fountain fireworks, that you set on the ground, and it shoots sparks about 6 feet into the air... well, it didn't light properly... fuse burned down then went out. So here he is (couldn't be older than 8) with the firework in one hand, lighter in another, trying to light it... and the parents are just sitting there minding their own business. I was about to go over and explain to him the value of keeping all your body parts as long as possible, and the concept of third degree burns and skin grafts, when he decided it was time to switch the brain back on, and threw it away. There really needs to be some better education about this stuff out there... for the parents more than the kids... {=o/ ¤]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[¤ To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
