Until it DID backfire and took out half of his thigh. He wouldn't be here today were it not for the foreign exchange student studying medicine and hanging out in the United States for a semester that was living across the road. That guy literally held onto his femoral artery until the ambulance arrived (probably 10 or 15 minutes.) He's had 5 surgeries since this happened 15 years ago, but has beat all the odds. Doctors not only said the student saved his life, but told him that over time the grafts and artificial arteries would give out and he'd probably lose the leg eventually. Since he's a fireneck(;-) scott)/snowmaker/logger by trade, I'm glad he didn't. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of ]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[ Sent: Wednesday, July 04, 2001 11:30 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: NCR Ozzfest and other concerts That's okay.... the way that this group was going, pretty soon, they might not anyways... truly saddening. If they would have stuck around, I could have graphically described the time I had to respond to a call for a 12 year old that had a Roman Candle (you know that thin tube that shoots colored fireballs, that everyone insists on holding, even though they're made just to be put in the ground?) not work properly and backfire in his hand... we managed to save 2 of his fingers and his thumb, and the last I heard, he could almost hold things again... the scars were still real prominent... skin grafts can only cover so much, after all... that was 2 years before I came out this way... I last saw him about 3 weeks before I left for here. That story usually shocks a lot of people back into reality, but no matter what, there's always still one or two people who just don't get the point. ¤]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[¤ To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
