It is indeed great that Creed's music was able to help you through such a rough time. Jeff is a very nice guy to care enough to share them with you. :) Congrats on winning the battle. I've never experienced it that much so I don't exactly know much about depression, but it sounds like a very difficult illness to overcome. You should be proud of yourself! :) Have a great time here, sometimes it get's kinda crazy, but hang in there. There is the occasional bickering but we still survive. Take care, and enjoy your stay! ~Kristin "We may rise and fall, But in the end, We'll meet our fate together.." -----Original Message----- From: Gina Kovach baronessgk@JUNO.COM Sent: Tue, 3 Jul 2001 18:03:39 +0100 To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: I'm a new member Hi everybody My name is Gina, I'm 16 years old, and I'm going to be a junior in high school. I've liked (or loved) Creed ever since my freshman year, when I joined my youth group at church. I was suffering from depression at the time, and I was feeling isolated, so I joined to find some new friends and people that actually cared about me. There was a guy named Jeff who was a senior in the youth group at the time, and he is who introduced me to Creed. He let my borrow his My Own Prison CD and told me about how much it helped him when he had been suicidal during his sophomore year. I took it home, listened to it, and was immediately hooked. I could relate to every word and although a lot of the lyrics were dark, they were extremely comforting to me. The next day I bought that CD, as well as Human Clay. Just for the record, I won my battle with depression, and I hope I will be able to someday thank Creed for, in a way, saving my life. There were days when I really wanted to end it all, and then I would listen to their music and realize that there's something to live for. For that I am truly grateful.
