================================================ Subject: Re: NCR: (joke) You know when you're trailer trash when............ From: "Keith Mears" To: Date: Sun 1 Jul 2001 03:23:31 -0500 ================================================ Call me a cynic, but why is it that the "list-Nazis" are all over people who post about Christianity, Napster, the "irony" of unsubscribing (there's more, but I'll stop here), but nobody says a word when we get JOKES (most of which aren't even funny, but that's beside the point)? At least the Napster thread was MUSIC-related (and I know at least one person asked about Creed's views on the issue, which would have made it "Creed-related" as well), and the Christianity thread is somewhat "Creed-related" (whether one thinks they are a Christian band or not), considering all the media coverage of the issue. Especially considering this week's rash of people complaining that the OTHER "NCR" topics were going to cut into our 500-post limit, I think we are all obliged to ask that the jokes be kept "private". Or, here's a novel idea. Why don't we all just lighten up, and if we see a particular post or thread that we'd rather not see, just delete it (there's certainly been no shortage of people who "know where their delete button is"). Personally, I'm on over a dozen different lists, and this is the ONLY one where I've seen ANYBODY get bent out of shape about the contents of the posts, despite the fact that on several of those lists, people FREQUENTLY resort to personal attacks (this is where the "delete button" is especially handy). Of course, one could also just have a sense of humor, and reply to the sender with 1), equally or MORE personal attacks, or 2), an equally pointed NON-personal attack ("Whatever" works really well for me). Of course, that's just MY opinion. I could be wrong. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tasha Martinez" To: Sent: Sunday, July 01, 2001 1:37 AM Subject: NCR: (joke) You know when you're trailer trash when............ > > > YOU KNOW YOU'RE TRAILER TRASH WHEN To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
