I feel privileged that you responded to me with this... but you ARE aware that the website in question is an admitted hoax, aren't you? The Animal Rights Groups were neither blowing you off, nor were they ignoring you. They didn't do anything about it, because there was nothing to do. Animal Rights can't force a website to remove faked content, when it's admitted as fake... or else they could go and force the makers of "Happy Gilmore" to do a recall on all of their video's because of the scene where Adam Sandler beats up the alligator... the gator wasn't real, and everyone knew that, but it still portrayed a violent act towards an animal. I suggest that you do some actual investigating into the site... check out a couple of the "hoax" websites... link snopes, as DebbiR posted several days ago... http://www.snopes2.com/inboxer/outrage/bonsai.htm is a direct link to the page... Snopes is good enough that they will never post something as a hoax unless it has been 100% proven to be an actual hoax. Set your mind at ease, and ease off on the Animal Rights groups... this one is a fake. So lets hope that in the future before someone starts to pass forwards, that they at the very least investigate the source first.
