Right on Lee!  (I know I'm late in my opinion to this).  :) lol.

I personally think Napster is great, being able to preview cd's is the best.  Who would want to spend $20 on a cd that just isn't worth listening to in the end?
Or, for someone like me, use napster to get songs that you have no way of geting anymore.  Some songs don't circulate on radios, tv, or even in the stores anymore.  So how would someone get those songs?
Also, there's no use in debating napster [in my opinion (can't forget to put that.  :) )] since there are so many other groups like napster out there.

This isn't directed to you specifically Lee, just commenting on this topic since I didn't get much about it anyway.  :)

okay, i guess i just have to put my two cents in here...

newbie or not, the main issue here is that the list is here for discussion, not arguing or personal attacks...disagreement and debate are fine, as long as everyone stays relevant to the topic...too many times, i have seen folks come in here, start a 'discussion', and before you know it, it devolves into personal attacks...and quite often, these attacks are directed at folks who have been here for quite a while...i think the point that was being made is that folks need to get to know one another here...just as in rl, sometimes personalities rub some folks the wrong way...okay, i'm off the soapbox on that one...

as far as file sharing, i have to say, i totally agree with tara, and the others who have voiced similar opinions...i don't have a lot of money to spend on cd's...and i hate to invest in a cd for only one or two songs...most of what i've dl'ed is newer music, or rare stuff...i like to know that i like the band's music before i invest in their 'product'...how many times have we all bought a cd, based on one or two songs, only to find that the rest of the cd sucks?
