They had 4 albums that 99% of America has never heard. Their 5th album had "that insipid singer".

5th through 10th with him. (not counting live albums, greatest hits and box set)

Their 11th studio album has a different singer.

Journey would probably be one of the ones who went through enough albums to
survive a sophomore jinx. They had staying power, which got them through
quite a few albums.
