At times, i feel that a great deal of the songs were religiously based. Though a few sewem to be just songs about life. Now to give a little insight into how I first got into Creed's music. My wife was having trouble with a deceptive Amway dealer that she worked for. They fired her and had the intention to keep her last paycheck and accused her of stealing. The reason that they fired her was that she is a great worker. But they wanted to fire her. so that they could get away with not paying unemployment. Anyway, I was very "initialized" and brought out in my faith. Which is not Christianity.nor any of the other commercialized theocracies. Anyway, I was listening to the radio and heard the Creed song "MY Own Prison" playing on the radio. I commented to my wife. "See, Rock and Roll isn't about Satanic crap. Listen to this song! Anyway, MOP was my fight song to fight the deceptive Greed monsters. It was mainly the vocals were so strong that I could release my pent up frustrations and anger through singing the song. My wife ended up getting a job a day after she was set up by her prior employer and we got her paycheck. Getting on the BB and the mailing lists have made me more interested in Creed. Than I would of been otherwise. But it there is no way to say that they are stealth Christians or just musicians. To bring out the connection with my 7M3 address. I used the song Cumbersome as my fight song against the Greed establishment for dealing with Bank One. Since the vocals of that song kept me going for a release of energy and emotion through song. Basically, I like musicians that i can sing along with. Mostly, they are strong and course vocalists. The weak and moaning or the unintelligable growling ones do not appeal to me. Feel free to discuss how or why Creed songs strike you as religious. But don't claim exclusivity of Creed being a Christian band or that others that believe in Christ as the proxy or fall guy as not being Christians. Sorry to all of those that find the subject totally inappropriate. And to the Christian music enthusiests. I think that Stavesacre is another worthy Christian influenced band. But for DC talk. I didn't really care for them. Christian music labeling does not scare me off. Nor does t dictate my musical selections.
