posted 06-06-2001 02:37 PM                   This is an official update
on the Creed Fan Fair. The status of the fan fair is that we are moving full
steam ahead. We want to reiterate how excited we all are about the concept.
We haven't been able to set a date yet because we want to be sure that the
album will be done before the event so that we may play our new songs for
you. When we get further into the recording of the album, we should be able to
make an educated guess about the time of its completion. We will try to
ensure that fans have ample time to get off of work and purchase tickets etc.
Some of the tentative hilights of the event will be performances by some of
Creed's favorite unsigned acts, including The Color Green, Eric Durrance aka
Big dismal, and Von Ra, a taping of VH1's storytellers, and a performance and
sneak preview of new material by Creed themselves. Although we are very
excited about the upcoming event and appreciate the fans and organizers for
coming up with the concept, there are some points of concern. There have been
numerous negative comments posted regarding the event by several bulletin
board members including its organizers. This is troubling because the
positive spirit of the organizers and support of the fans was what initially
enticed us to participate in the event. That spirit seems to have turned into
an enormous amount of growing negativism, personal conflict, and hidden
agendas. This concern on our part, plus our goal of having a properly planned
and executed event, has caused us to turn over all further planning
activities to the House of Blues Orlando staff where the event will be held.
We hope that everyone remains as dedicated and excited about the event as we
are and can assure everyone that the event will happen and will be executed
properly and professionally when it does. This event will take an enormous
amount of time, money, and energy to put on, but we are dedicated to the
task. In the meantime, we are going to ask Wind-Up to dedicate a portion of
the Creednet site to keeping everyone informed of our progress so that there
is no miscommunication of what is happening. Thanks again to everyone for
their support.Jeff Hanson
