Hey Jim!
Nice to meet you, too. I still find it amazing to be able to talk to people from far, far away. I don't know maybe you've already ticked off that part of the virtual maze (?). Anyway, thanks for sharing personal things with me (and Big brother... hehe - but actually, I'm into the same paranoia - I guess everyone is at some point)<reminding myself of "The Matrix" where the people didn't even know they lived in a fake world> ..hmm.. scary stuff
But I keep on saying: you've gotta run the risk. I mean, you can't spend your life in your house so that you won't be hit by a car, know what I mean?
So, what else can I tell you about myself? I'm pretty much an isolated type. Trying to open up, though. Trying many things, btw. Trying to be "something like human", most of all. Very self-critical, to the point of being over-self-critical. hehe. Trying not to waste my time here on earth. Trying to find my vocation. (I know yours. But how did you happen to find it? Was it a certainty?). According to the American education system (thanks for explaining it to me) I'm in high school, going to go to college next year. Just don't know which one to chose, as in the subject of study. Plus, I'm far from knowing what I want to do in life lateron. So, I guess that makes me a pretty undecided person. Which in turn creates the extreme imbalance... hehe..;-)
You say you like talking to people on the internet. Well, I have a rather skeptic view on this. I have this paranod theory of mine (it doesn't apply to everyone, but to many): People that talk to other people on the net, either just don't have anything better to do or are isolated, don't have many friends and want to "escape" into the illusion of the virtual world where they find friends (that are most of all out for the same thing). So this whole "talking to people on the internet" idea is a bit like deceiving yourself in creating a make-belief environment around yourself. I know that's quite heavy and probably just sorta interpreted into things rather than being observed or scientifically proven, but like I said before, that's just my paranoid theory. And I guess it does apply to me. (Me being the creator of this theory in the first place, that figures.. ;-) But being aware of this phenomenon, I try to at least make the most of such internet talks by talking to people on subjects that interest me. And in such a case, it is beneficial for both sides - I believe. Because by exchanging our opinions we can alter them, and learn from each others experiences. I don't know if anything I'm saying now makes sense, but that's the way I feel about it, so I guess it would have been an even bigger deception not to mention this now, when you spoke of "liking to talk to people on the net". Am I the only one feeling this way about virtual reality? ........ to be continued
