Pay attention to what directory that the command tells you and then type cd \whatever\whatever\ . After that is done you should be able to type win and the computer should come up in windows. the only problem is that all of the ICONS will not be able to load. So you will get a lot of can't find this.grp and that.grp files. Just acknowledge the error, but answer that you want to try to load it on your next loading of windoze. From the program manager, choose file then run from the file menu. type winfile in the box (if that doesn't work, you might use the browse feature to locate winfile.com). Either that or type command.com to get a DOS shell where you can find it the same way as before. If you got lucky, there will be a windows directory called windows. (imagine that) What you want to do is to move the windows directory back to the C:\ (root directory) with the file manager. then close down windows and try to see if you can start windows by restarting your computer and seeing if it comes up normally. Then make sure that you explain that you don't move windoze or DOS. Plus, you don't put files in the C:\ (root) directory or delete files from the root directory. It sounds complicated, but you might be able to get a copy of windows 3.1 at a used computer store.
