Ewa,
I like your thoughts about reality. Or what could be called the parameters of reality that are as we know them. Reality is based on the senses that we have and what we can see, smell, feel, hear, taste and think of. I would add the ability to perceive what the senses allow. So being able to reason is a sense to say. Since it is a sense within the mind.
But the senses may not be accurate to what they see and might "see" sound or "hear" light if the rate that the brain recieves the "signals" is not correct. That is what drugs that cause one to see trails or light or see things that are not real do. Since the creation of distorted thoughts is also caused by the effect of changing the chemical balance of the brain. Then what is to say that reason is not a sense that can also detect things in its time away from the other "senses". We know that some of us are really out of it with being "sound sleepers". So what is to say that it is more than just an organic "defragmenter program" to unscramble all of the things that it took in during it's waking time.
Good thing that God is a shareware type of being and doesn't charge us "licensing fees" like other parasitic humans do for "thier" software and hardware.
Unless you believe that you have to "buy" your way into the heaven with Licensing your soul to Jesus.

Jim

yeah, I get you here.. the mistake is on my part (what was that about my being a logical person? hehe)
to come to speak of the "what is real?"-question, here again I get your point (hmm.. can't outwit you as easily as I thought.. kidding)
Anyways, I have this one theory of mine (sorta theory) concerning reality. Suppose there is a deeper reality than our senses (the basic 5 of them) can perceive - or let's have it the logical way because a "deeper reality" is in a way a contradicting expression (if it's a reality already, no need for it to be deeper.. hehe) but what I meant here was the absolute reality (is that expression adequate enough? trying to be precise and logical here.. hehe) --- btw. being precise and logical is a demanding quality, just look at the lenght of my message..hehe ---
So, we set off from the thesis that there is an absolute reality. Now imagine, we couldn't ever get behind the way of uncovering it - for example because of our natural predispositions, i.e our senses (whatever their number). And I ask you: would it really matter to know that all we see, smell, taste, touch and hear is a stimulation of reality (or: a distant shadow of reality - however you want to name it) if all the others didn't know it (although this isn't a major argument here and I think that maybe it would be worth to know the truth for the price of being an "outcast") and more importantly, if you couldn't ever get in touch with that reality because of lack of appriopiate "tools", i.e. additional senses. And another question arises: again, would it matter if your actions found their consequences in this pseudo-reality (=stimulation of reality/ distant shadow of reality) and you could perfectly function in this pseudo-reality (which we do, btw.). Of course I am aware that this theory (based on an assumption of a futuristic vision of a new, absolute reality) is not absolutely correct and even I have arguments that speak against it -- which btw is my (and I suppose not only my) constant quality/curse(?), i.e. doubting my own theories an so on, so practically when you criticize my viewpoints I've already done it in my mind while I was creating them - do you also happen to have this "logical confusion" in your head??

Most folks they like the daytime,
'cause they like to see the shining sun.
They're up in the morning,
off and a-running till they're too tired for having fun.
But when the sun goes down,
and the bright lights shine, my daytime has just begun.

Now there are two sides to this great big world,
and one of them is always night.
If you can take care of business in the sunshine, baby,
I guess you're gonna be all right.
Don't come looking for me to lend you a hand.
My eyes just can't stand the light.

'Cause I'm a night owl honey, sleep all day long.
