In my opinion, the writers use a lot of false reasoning. It attempts to answer the question you asked regarding inbreeding... their solution is something along the lines of Adam and Eve being genetically perfect, and genetic impurities not coming into play until after their expulsion from Eden. After that, genetic defects slowly started creeping in, but slowly enough that "inbreeding" didn't matter for quite a while. When it got to be a big enough problem that defects were cropping up regularly, and there were lots of people on the earth, that's when God made it wrong to breed with close relations. (Going with the idea that the reason genetic defects are so common with inbreeding is due to the genetic problems coming from both sides, so it makes the odds of that defect being dominant much higher). Scott and I were watching TLC last night, when they had a couple of programs about mummies on. They've found mummies (both natural and human-created) thousands of years old.. the Spirit Caveman that Scott mentioned is supposed to be 10,900 years old (according to the websites), meaning he was alive somewhere between 9000 and 8000 B.C. But if the earth is only 6,000 years old, then the only explanation is that the scientists made a mistake on the mummy, in addition to mistaking the dates of dinosaurs and other fossils. (As for the paleontology/anthropology thing... it was late, I was tired, that's my only excuse... lol). And just for the record, I read everyone's posts, including yours, and I'm neither damning nor trying to convert you.
