From: "Lisa G King" To: Date: Fri 11 May 2001 13:55:26 -0700 ================================================ enjoy Thursday May 10 12:57 PM EDT Creed's New Album 'Weathered' In Progress (5/10/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- Creed singer Scott Stapp is getting into the groove of being at home, writing songs for the next Creed album, and spending time with his son, Jagger. The Florida native told LAUNCH he's written a new song he's particularly excited about. "A song with a working title called 'Hide'--it's just about escaping and finding a place where there's no reason to hide," he said. "I've gone through a gamut of emotions over the last three or four years, and just with some recent events, and I wrote that song and I'm really vibing on it. The working title of the album is called Weathered. I think that's going to be the title of the record. I'm not sure yet." The Creed frontman hopes the album will be out by the end of the year, but he's steadfast about not rushing it. He's also comfortable with the band "going away" for a while, as he's waiting for the success of Human Clay, and its hit songs, "Higher" and "What If" among others, to dissipate a bit. The album has now been certified nine times platinum. Stapp has also been working closely with his non-profit organization With Arms Wide Open, which has raised close to half a million dollars for various Florida charities. The current projects for the foundation are a Space Camp scholarship and a music scholarship--both seek to strengthen the relationships between parents and their children. -- Darren Davis, New York Got news tips, comments, or questions?
