    I would imagine that it is more popular in the Republic, yes. But I wasn't using Irish Gaelic (Gaeilge) anyway, because I don't know any, I was using Scottish Irish (Gaidhlig), because that is the only language that is very closely related of which I know even fragments.

Out of curiosity, how popular is Gaelic in Northern Ireland, anyway? I'd think it'd be more popular in the Republic than in the North.  But what do I know?
