================================================ Subject: Msg From Admin: AOL Users From: "Ed Kiang" To: Date: Thu 3 May 2001 13:03:59 -0400 ================================================ I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still working on this AOL issue. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, it seems that some AOL users are not getting emails from our email server and some are. All of the signs seem to indicate that the emails are getting out of our server okay, which would imply that they are either getting lost on the way to AOL or getting filtered out when they get to AOL. I have left messages with the Postmaster Team and have support tickets in with the Member Services Support Team and the Community Action Team. One AOL rep noted that it could also be your personal settings. Apparently, with the AOL client, you can specify who you receive emails from (sort of like a reverse filter: rather than define a list of emails that you want to block, define a list of people that you will accept emails from and ignore any one else). So, if you are experiencing this problem, you may want to check your email settings to make sure that you can accept emails from us. Of course, if that is the case, you probably won't get this email anyway. So, if you know of anyone with this problem, you may want to pass this email along to them. Of course, for users who are receiving some of our messages and not others, you'll need to wait until we get word back from AOL. Unfortunately, I have not been given an estimated amount of time that this investigation will take. When I know more, I'll send another update.
