Judgment is a fascinating concept, you know.Originally the idea behind it was the justification of battle situations in which both parties were pre'y well aware that neither was "correct", because in the most literal sense nothing is "correct", except to our own personal perceptions. That's why our courts are so screwed lately, because there really is no "right" or "wrong", especially in our increasingly communistic world community. The idea of leaving judgment solely in the hands of a deity is not new either (well, obviously). That was the idea behind the Inquisition, the Plymouth Witch Trials, the Pogroms, and the Crusades, and a lot of other mistakes - the Christians figured that their god would, once the victim had been murdered, decide whether he should be placed in heaven or hell or whatever. And that their god would judge who the victors of a battle should be. That was the concept behind a duel too - two equally armed opponents given equal advantage, would hypothetically cross each other out and leave only the divine to choose the righteous man as the winner, and thus the "liver". And I'm not just banging on Christianity here, 'cause Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, whatever, they're all guilty of plenty of atrocities that were committed because they reasoned that their deit(y/ ies) would judge the righteous to live and the unrighteous to die. Christianity is just the one of which I personally know the most. So the next time that you say to "let God judge", remember that was Hitler's reasoning whenever he massacred the Jews of Europe. Not that I'm calling anyone a "bad" person around here, but a little bit of doubt goes a long way.
