Subject: NCR new bands

hey guys...
i've been doing some band hunting lately...checked out 3...2 i read about in
mags...1 a recommendation from someone...

lets start with Sunna...their album is called One Minute Science. i read a
little blurb about them in AP or Spin i can't remember....and then inge said
she heard them play with APC and they were good...and Agie said they were
being played on the airwaves out in poland...so i checked them out...they're
pretty good, more mellow than heavy...i don't know who i can compare them to,
they have a very generic sound...so far i like Insanity Pulse and I Miss.
their lead singer has an awesome voice. and the lyrics are really great. so
is the playing...

then there's Skrape, and their album is called New Killer America. Now these
guys are insanely heavy...Union Underground, Taproot type stuff. Pretty cool.
I would put them between Union Underground and Taproot, theyre not quite as
good as UU of course cause UU is awesome...but a little better than taproot.
i really like their song Sunshine.

Skrape is a very good band, I've heard them played on the radio here quite a bit, and they're going to be at our local radio stations Earthday Birthday celebration that has about 10 bands, I can't wait to hear them live!!

the last band i checked out on Tanya's recommendation: Nonpoint...she
recommended What a Day and i d/led it and it kicked ass so i d/led a bunch of
other songs...awesome. real great heavy rock. take her recommendation.

They seem to take alot of their influence from Sevendust.  The show that I recently saw them at with Sevendust, the guys just hung out behind the speakers on stage and watched their whole performance, not to mention that the lead singer looks like Lajon's little brother! :)  Check out their website at www.nonpoint.com

One more band to brag on that I recently caught in concert is StereoMud, they are a really awesome, heavy hitting band out of New York.  The bassist, Corey, is brother to Clint from Sevendust and you can see and hear some of the influences.  This band is VERY fan friendly and rock hard.  Check them out at www.stereomud.com

check 'em all out.
And if you STILL haven't checked out Godhead (my current obsession) DO SO
NOW! lol

And, as we speak, I'm going to check out Godhead...lol.  After all the hype, I just gotta hear what they're all about! :)  I'll let ya know what I think, Salma!
