================================================ Subject: NCR: The band Bridge From: "Misty Farmer" To: Date: Wed 28 Mar 2001 15:07:35 -0000 ================================================ Hey guys, The following article is about the group Bridge. They are great and still searching for that ever elusive record deal. If you would, please take the time to check them out. I really like these guys and think that some of you will also. I'll send along articles about each member and I will gladly e-mail you a couple of their songs so that you can get an idea on just what these guys sound like. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. The band Bridge - In July of 1997, two brothers who played together since childhood formed the band Bridge. Terrill Hinson provides rhythm guitars and strong lead vocals while brother Brandon Hinson provides the backbone of the band on drums. John Mitchell heads up the rythym section on bass and Sean Lindfors completes the group on lead guitar. September of '97 saw their first release, an independently produced and recorded demo. Fan response was favorable and a few short months later Bridge received their first radio play on 106.5's local music show 90 Minutes. Weeks after, Bridge recorded another demo at Studio East in Charlotte. "As a Tree" received repeated airplay on 90 Minutes after fan requests and torrid live shows. Strong live sets earned them a regular stint at local college hotspot Mayday's and gigs at the prestigious Double Door Inn. In January of '99 Bridge traveled to Los Angeles to play the Busch Grand National Championship party for good friend Dale Earnhardt Jr. A great success, Bridge discovered their appeal to be more inclusive than they had anticipated. Bridge's wide fan base and successful live shows has boosted radio requests and their attendance at shows has grown and grown. The success of Bridge has led to several projects. A single co-written with Dale Earnhardt Jr. was recorded in late March at Southern Tracks Studios in Atlanta. The single was released in May and saw great sales and promotion over the summer, and is still sold on Budweiser souvenir trailers at various events across the nation. Bridge supported the single by playing the Speedstreet Festival in downtown Charlotte with Kool and the Gang, and a show in New York with Atlantic recording artist Edwin McCain. Bridge also opened for Fighting Gravity in their hometown of Richmond Virginia in early September. Bridge headed back to Studio East in mid-summer to begin work on their first full album project. Bridge played the Speedstreet Festival once again in May of 2000 to support a Limited Edition release that sold out through the summer. In August of 2000, after receiving a helping hand from Smashmouth frontman Steve Harwell, Bridge headed to Ironwood Studios in Seattle with producer Jon Dunleavey to complete more tracks fot the upcoming album. A growing relationship with Budweiser has also opened more doors for Bridge. In September of 2000, Bridge was a guest on the nationally syndicated morning radio show, John Boy and Billy. The band reached 90 different markets, as far as Japan, and received over 2500 hits on their website by the next day. The show also boosted the sale of CD's across the nation through mail order and attracted fans nationwide. After returning from Seattle, Bridge turned up the heat, and blistered the Charlotte scene with electrifying shows. At their final show before breaking for the holidays, attendance grew to 400 with fans coming from as far Pennsylvania, Ohio and California. The release of their latest album is set for January 20th. The band is also gearing up for a busy winter/spring schedule in support of the new album. Live Bridge shows are full of energy and every song is definitely something different. They envelop the crowd with the memorable sounds of passionate and creative rock music. A contagious excitement follows Bridge as they steadily increase their rapidly growing fan base. The band has varied influences, from the sounds of Pearl Jam and Creed, to the psychedellia of the Doors and Jimi Hendrix. Lyrically, Bridge strives to be both thought provoking and memorable. Most of the songs draw from experiences within everyday life, and are a collaborative effort to bring a wide variety of musical influences together to sound a new voice.
