Unfortunatley it is under 900 now and appears to be steadily dropping. I guess if there was more Creed related postings and less high volume postings on everything else. The number might go over 2000 again. Like it was on the initial introduction of a Creed list.
The troubles that the Creed lists have always had is that a lot of people have posted one line personal comments that concern only one person. Thus, reply sends it to the individuals and not to the list. Second, there are those people that want to hear information about Creed. So they come and are disappointed that it rarely is about Creed. Another is about the ideal that it is a 'click" (however spelled, but pronounced click) that some feel forms on the list.
Basically, there is no group of people that are controlling the list. However, the ones that do post are the ones that can either cause people to forget about the list. Sit back and read the sometimes interesting information.
About the "lurkers". There is nothing strange about people that lurk on the list and don't post openly. some of these people are in the entertainment field. Others will only jump in when they come across some Creed news or in some cases. They need good people to talk with about life's challenges.
Anyways, to cut off the post. Since my train of thought somehow got lost. See you all later. For those that somehow got subscribed by accident. The list has it's ups and downs. But when Creed is touring, putting out new material (not often enough) or on particular shows (late night or awards shows). This is usually the quickest list to be informed of the new events.

I agree that is a cool feature.  I was curious as to what it was and tried it, little did I know I had to put "Creed-Discuss" after Review.  I noticed too that there was only 978 people on the list.  Maybe less now since more people have unsubscribed.  I doubt the list would gain 5000 subscribers, but 1000 or even 2000 doesn't sound too far off.  It's weird to me how there are 978 people on here, but only maybe 2% chat openly.  Most of the others are probably just reading the replys.  Still, that is a LOT.  :)
That definitely had to be confusing.  For helping someone unsubscribe, you'd be unsubscribed yourself!  Glad the list isn't still like that, I don't think there would be many left on here.  :)  You WERE serious on that right?  I couldn't tell.
That IS kinda weird that maybe 95% of the people wanting off were from (and still are from) AOL.  Maybe you're initial thought wasn't too far off....:)  J/K  Whatever it is, there is definitly something a little "mysterious" about that......:)
Take my *advice* never go without checking e-mail for 4 days, unless you want exactly 413 e-mails to come back to.  ^_^  Maybe I should take my own advice....lol :)

Thanks Hopper,

One of the nicer features of the list is to know that it is that you can at least how many people are on the list. It seems that 216 people from the originally subscribed members have dropped off of the list so far.
But, there are still 978 people hanging onto the list.
My points were all in humor. And I took your first point in sarcastic humor. But didn't read the second one as sarcasm. But like you said, opinions are to be expressed and debated without going into any type of word fight or whatever the case may be.
Since I was on the list that was. Before the last list, which is no more. I am hoping that this new list that is hosted by wind-up theirselves goes over better than the last two versions.
On the list that I first signed on. Which was before the recently retired list. You would unsubscribe by directly sending a blank message. With only "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject and you would send it to the regular list.
Anyway, If you put the word anywhere in the message. You might find yourself having to sign up again. For the list seemed to find the word and issue the command to your subscription and the person that you were trying to help get off of the list.
I was being well into a sarcastic viewpoint, due to the long list of people wanting off of the list. Coincidently, they had AOL accounts. Anyway, when the first list was up. There were over 2000 people subscribed to the list. That was in the early days of the list. Back when Creed was not too well known of.
On a serious note, I think that we have a great chance to build the third list that I know of up to a list where maybe we have 5000 subscribed. Instead of less than a thousand. I'm looking forward to this list having posts from fans, band members, people from the promotional field and just those that admire the band and want to stay up with their music, concert reviews and maybe music that relates wel with the band Creed.

No war, like you said. Just opinions and discussion.

Hey Jim,
I agree with you on that, it is a good list. It's definitely a clever
idea involving e-mail, I honestly never heard of it before I tried it. A
month or 2 ago, when I signed up, I signed up thinking it was an on-line
chat. But it didn't seem like it. So I decided to try this out and
liked it even better. I think it's great that wind-up made this for
their fans, to get individual view points passed around.

Anyway, what I wrote was in a joking manner, not to be taken seriously.
I knew you were kidding about the AOL "automatically signing up to
discussions". There is no way, that I can think of, that that could
happen. What I meant when I wrote about the future out-look wasjokingly. Not totally though. I don't know if you were, but many
people, including myself, were signed up already before the new server
took over. It !
just seems that there are more noticable problems with
this one than with the older one. It's more confusing, and there is more
than one way off. Instead of the 2 clear cut ways most of us are used
to. Not to mention a LOT more people wanting off the list. There were
occasional, but not 20 + in one week. So it shows some "internal"
problems they are facing. All in all, I do know that this can be worked
out, and it only gets better, just takes time getting used to from us
that don't take change well. ^_^ And from those that have yet to get
used to the unsub info.

I'm not fighting with you Jim, just exchanging viewpoints. ^_^

Actually, I'm impressed with this list. Like everything, it takes a
little while to get used to the way that it works. But, then it is a

pretty good list.
Being a technical person. I realize that a lot of things are more
opinions than fact with bugs and the like.
I'm impressed by Wind-up putting a mailing list up. It makes me feel

more confident in the company and their dedication to those that
look to
them for music and the like.
I've designed programs myself. So I know how the first use of it is
and
how much better it becomes. After the designer gets feedback from
the
users of the program.
I make databases to keep track of process steps. Give information on

financial information. Easily direct a person to the needed
information
and the like. But, I do remember the day of opening up the database

progra! m and reading. "The first thing you need is a table". Then
sitt!
ing
around and saying. "OK, now what!"

Anyway, I knew that you were being sarcastic in the first line. But

disagree with your second comment. My comments on were meant to be
taken
in a joking way. Since I realize that AOL would not do such a silly

thing.. Even though they are a real "card" with a lot of their
practices.
But, knowing how automated systems work and also on how certain
Internet
Service providers and Webmail accounts work. It makes me appriciate
the
efforts of those that have to deal with critisisms and uninformed
conclusions.

I was expecting an email that told me how to sign-up to the list.
Instead of checking my mail and seeing about a hundred postings that

said. I don't want to be on the list. There still would of been
troubles
with people being able to get on the list though.
