I'm in pain, | myself...serious pain....damn, I'm getting too old for touring...lol.....21 | sure ain't what it used to be....haha | | Well last night was the last show on my mini-tour roster....so on to the | review: | | We got to the venue around 5:00...the line wasn't too bad, but still I was | farther back then I'd hoped to be....but after a while, people started to | line up at another door, so I went over to that line, and was only about 10 | people back. We went in at 6:30, (damn its cold standing in line for that | long) and went thru the search....this place was real thorough, I'm glad I | didn't even try to take a camera this time....full search, and then the wand | too...anyway, we went down to the floor and there were only a few people | there....most just went to the seats....I can't understand that....anyway, I | was right in front of Mark Tremonti, just like I told him I'd be...4 band | members, 4 concerts, on the rail in front of each of them....that worked out | well! | | The crowd was pretty civil thru 3 Doors Down, I don't think any of them knew | who they are. Even when they played Kryptonite, me and my girls were the | only ones singing along. They played the same set....but it was cool being | on the side of the stage with the bass player, cause he's great...they all | are really, its a good live show. During their show, one of the guitarists | that we had stood in front of at another show was over on our side and really | having fun with Dess....he was singing right to her and playing around, the | bass player was doing kinda the same thing with me, they were a lot of | fun....after the show, the bass player handed his towel to a security guard | and told him to give it to Dess. Then shortly after they left the stage, | another security guard came out with some backstage passes...the only thing | is, he handed them to the 3 people next to us...a mom with blonde hair and | two teenage daughters....just like me....I'm pretty sure those passes were | meant for us, and I'm all pissed off that they gave them to those | people....they didn't know what they were, or who the band was.....grrrrrr!!! | Owell, 3DD are playing a small venue here this weekend, now that they're | done touring with Creed, so maybe we'll go to that show! | | Sevendust did basically the same set as the last three shows too. They start | out with that recording playing in the background of two people arguing over | something, but even after 4 shows, I haven't figured out what they're | saying....anyway, the Sevendusts fan were getting pretty nasty before the | show even began, so I knew it was gonna be rough, and it was.....but they | just rock so hard, I love watching them. I was on the bassplayers side for | this one and he is wayyyyy cool to watch! Plus it's cool to watch them | jumping from those trampolines! I got Lajon's attention right from the | start, when he noticed me standing there, he pointed at me and winked....then | he kept coming back over and singing to me....damn he's cool! They only | problem I have with Sevendust is that they don't do Licking Cream, and it's | my favorite song. The drummer does backup vocals for them, but on that song, | he sings a lot of it, so maybe that's why they don't do it live. My favorite | one they do is Home, its a great song! I caught one of the picks the guitar | player thru out just before he walked off stage....that was cool....I think | we have 3 of theirs now, and a couple of 3DD picks too. | | After they left the stage, I was hoping for the crowd to chill out a little, | but they didn't....seems it takes until about 4 songs into Creeds set for | that...then they settle down till the encores, when every crowd surfer has to | get in one last trip before the end of the show! | | Creed opened up with the Logo sign rising up in the back....lights are | dimmed, and there letters have a cool bluish glow to them....then the guys | walk out on stage to all the screams and cheers...the lights come up on | stage....and with Scott facing the drums, the wall of fire shoots up and they | kick in with Are You Ready! The set list seems to vary, one show opening | with this, then the next opening with Ode, they mix the around a couple of | them, but basically play the same thing everytime...however, this show had a | little surprise ending. I'll get to that.....lol. Some of the highlights, | other than the awesome music...are the intro's Scott does with some of the | songs. When he intro'd With Arms Wide Open, he had even me in tears....it | was sooooo sweet....he talked about how he got this paper in the mail....it | had little pictures drawn on it, and now whenever he sings this song, he sees | those pictures in his head, pictures from Jaggar, and he hopes that we can | see them too.....awww, just made me tear right up! | | It looks like Wash Away Those Years is going to be included regularly in the | set list now, they did it again last night.....I wondered if the reason he | didn't do it before was because of the emotion involved in the song....and | last night, when he was doing the intro...he said he wasn't sure about doing | this song for an audience, because he wasn't sure what his own reaction would | be...and then he started to tell what it's about, then stopped and just | said....well, you'll see. God it was sad watching him sing that....I teared | up a little during that one too. I've watched him do a lot of shows, and a | lot of the songs are done the same, his movements and all I mean, but he did | this song the last 3 concerts, and each one was a little different. I don't | think the emotion he is displaying while singing it is staged...it looks damn | real to me anyway. When they did Say I....Scott came over by me and looked | at me while he was singing and he kept doing this hand gesture...no he wasn't | flipping me off....lol....he was closing his eyes, with his fingers, kinda | pointing at them....it was cool....I love the personal | attention....heheh....he was looking yummy again too, brown leather pants, | black t-shirt, boots....hair all flying around....damn what a | showman.....hehehe! | | Brian came over by Mark and they jammed real hard right in front of us...Mark | looked down and saw us there and gave a little wink, probably cause I told | him to look for me there. Brian came out in that hat again....goof....again | Kim, no skin....he left the t-shirt on the whole time. I'm running out of | things to say about these songs....it's just too hard to explain how great | they are live, you really have to experience it for yourself. Everyone who's | been to a show knows what I mean, right? | | One thing I was hoping to see was all four of them up on the platform they've | got Phillips' drum kit sitting on....it's cool that they do this now, because | you can actually see Scott behind them. When I talked to him back stage the | other day, I was telling him how I liked that the drummer for American Pearl | would stand up after each song to get his own cheers and appreciation....but | Scott said, that's just not him...he's so humble...lol...actually he said | Brian and Mark don't do shit, they just stand there and nod and him and Stapp | are working their asses off.....LOL. I also asked Mark about why, when all | four of them did go up to that platform, he went right back to his spot about | 5 seconds later, and Scott Phillips teased and said it's because he can't | play if he's not in his own little spot. Mark agreed and said he doesn't | like anyone in his spot either...lol. | | Let's see....they also did Torn, Illusion, Unforgiven, MOP, Beautiful, and | What If. Backstage I had asked Scott Phillips if I could make a request for | this show, he says "sure" so I told him SISTER and he says, oh man we haven't | done Sister in like 2 years. I told him that's why I wanted to hear | it...they didn't do Sister....lol...I'm sure they never do requests...I just | thought it was funny that he said "sure." Anyway they finished up the set | with WTLF, just like always, they pause at the point just before the last | line....Scott thanks the audience, then kicks in with the "cause we all live | under the reign of one king" and he really drags this out....Scott Phillips | is going crazy on the drums, he plays it out real well....and the fireworks | are shooting out of the ceiling and Stapp is facing the drums with his hands | raised and yelling YEAH YEAH....ahhh, it's all so exciting! They walk off | stage....Mark throwing picks....one to us....Phillips throwing | drumsticks....not to me....lol....I figure since Scott is the singer, he | should just throw himself, huh? | | The lights go down and the crowd starts chanting at this point, everyone | yelling CREED CREED CREED CREED, and then they walk back on stage...now every | other show I've been to, this is where Scott says, "the only way is one" and | they kick in with the song....but this show was different....he did a short | introduction to the next song....so I knew what was coming, and I think I'm | the only one around me that did...no one else even sang along....have you | guessed which song yet? Are you ready for me to tell you now? LOL....okay, | they did Is This The End!!! YAY!!!!!!! Damn, I was screaming and | cheering.....I LOVE that song! I loved it more before he put it on the | soundtrack, but it was still awesome to be in the audience the first time | they performed it live! I cried in this one too....just couldn't help it! | Anyway, after that, they did One and Higher and ended the show again with | Phillips kicking ass on the drums at the end of the Higher. | | Another great show, as expected! | | That's it, I'm done, thanks for your time. Go back to what ever you were | doing....LOL. | | V To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
