================================================ Subject: NCR: Infighting From: "Tara" To: Date: Fri 15 Feb 2002 15:16:46 -0500 ================================================ Is it just me, or have the majority of the active list members been taking cranky pills the last week or so? It seems like the level of negativity here (which is normally pretty high anyway) has skyrocketed lately. Now, I'm not telling anyone what they can or can't post, and I do know how to use my delete button. But it seems like whenever certain people post, or even when they don't, they get bashed for it. It sometimes seems that people are straining for reasons to make a negative post. And I'll admit guilt in that I've done the same thing - I wrote some not-so-nice things to/about Chastity. (Although she did refer to herself as just about everything I'd been saying to/about her, and I managed to hold myself back for quite a while before finally giving in and responding). I've been on the list for a while now, and I don't intend to leave it. But I'm wondering if maybe possibly people could just try to be a teensy bit nicer when they respond to other people (and maybe leave the random bashing of uninvolved list members out of it, no matter how much you dislike that person). I doubt it'll happen, but I figured that the worst that can happen by making this post is that I'll get bashed myself (by someone other than Chastity, that is). After all, there are other lists to vent frustration with other list members on (obscure plug here), but this list is the official one, which means a lot more people are likely to find their way to joining it. It seems to me that most of the newer people are being greeted with hostility just because they don't know the way things work here, or because they ask a question that people who've been around for a while have already seen come up a hundred times. If they're new, how can we expect them to already know everything? Or am I just being oversensitive and imagining all the hostility the list is generating?
