There are a few token exceptions, but for the most part, I've bashed the newbies OFF list, not ON. As for Jim, well, what can I say? Those who post like idiots will be treated like idiots, and until Jim. Can stop posting. Like an idiot, I'll continue to. Bash him mercilessly. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Tara Sent: Friday, February 15, 2002 5:39 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: Infighting There's such a thing as taking a joke too far, and I think that's part of what's happening. I know you and Debbi pretty well, and I know that you both snark for the fun of it. The problem is, new people aren't going to know enough about anyone here to know if they're joking or purposefully being cruel. Even knowing you (and the others who've taken up the snark), I think that some of the responses are rude and out of line. It's a reasonable assumption that hitting reply would send the response to the list - so the person made the mistake of not looking at the "To:" line, that's still no reason to call them an idiot. There's no reason to bash Jim relentlessly when he hasn't even been involved in the discussion at hand. There's no reason to start a fight with a new list member who overreacted to what was essentially a joke. I like and get along with the majority of the people on this list, and I'm not intending to anger anyone. I can understand the bashing of certain people (Beth comes to mind immediately, for those who remember her). But I don't understand why it seems like some of the 'oldies' are trying to run off half of the new people to the list. And I don't understand why some people have to bash others so often that it just becomes cruelty. But again, all of this is just my opinion. <--- obligatory disclaimer adapted from Dennis Miller To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
