I don’t give a DAMN about their personal lives, other than to wish James nothing but the very best in his private (and now PUBLIC) battle with addiction. Anything more than that is just none of my business, celebrity or not. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Joe Earles Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2002 6:00 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: response to Tara That's the saddest part about celebrity on any level, though. I think the guys in Creed would still like to be able to get closer to the fans once in a while but there are people out there with a very unhealthy obsession with the band (I'm obsessed with the band but I'm not stalking them or following them around from city to city or...well you get the point). There are people who look at Scott Stapp as a sort of Messiah and then there's the....how'd someone here put it...."Higher Girls" that make it real difficult to be approachable. Scott, I think, had a real hard time for a period dealing with celebrity status (hence the whole thing in the tattoo parlor and the "Pearl Jam heckler" in that bar) and well... let's just say Scott's not someone I'd want throwing punches at me.  We also wouldn't know about those incidents if they'd happened while Creed was still playing the bars for $200 a gig.
