================================================ Subject: okay it's finally here... From: "Lee Reed" To: Date: Wed 13 Feb 2002 09:17:24 -0500 ================================================ i know you've all been anxiously awaiting my recounting of our detroit adventure...scott did a great review of the show itself, so here's my story...(will it make the line limit?) i finally left cleveland around 11:30 in the morning monday, and i thought i wouldn't get into auburn hills til about 4pm...but i got into the 'zone', and drove straight thru, making into town about 2:30...i met v and kelly at the hotel, and found out that security kicked kate off the premises of the palace, where she was trying to assure our #1 spot in line...well, v, kelly and i drove to the palace, and hid out in the parking lot for about an hour and a half, and around 4:20 decided to go inside and scope it out...needless to say, we WERE first in line...until they decided to move the line to the other side...they were so disorganized there...had to sign a waiver and show id in order to get the wrist bands...kate came and held our place in line while we went back to the hotel to get jen and her cousin, jeanine...waiting for the actual gates to open, we met nora and her daughter ashley...you've heard nora's story already, lucky wench! we were among the first thru the gates, and we made it onto the floor, and were lined up right on the rail, along with some BB folks...v and the girls were right in front of mark, jen and i off to the side...(you will never believe who pushed their way up front and ended up right next to jen, and then proceeded to try to flirt, beg, and cajole anyone and everyone who even looked important into getting her backstage...none other than "creed's #1fan", remember her? the ONLY higher chick in my immediate vicinity!) from my perspective, virgos were just very loud, not very exciting...but man, brett spits a lot...did you catch that v? tantric were okay, but i was really turned off by hugo's mouth and his ego...he just knew he was 'the shit', ya know? this guy had brought his 8 year old son on the floor, and asked us if he could get up on the rail for creed, so bronwyn (from the bb) and i let him in between us, and kept an eye on him...creed came on, and omg...everytime the pyros went off, we jumped a mile high...and you could feel the heat...i was really glad we were on mark's side...i had a very clear view of both him and flip...god, what a talented duo...stapp seemed to spend more time on the other side of the stage, but that was okay...gave me time to focus on mark and flip...gadz, i knew mark had large biceps...but until you see him up close, you don't realize just how massive they really are...all i can tell you guys is that you have not truly enjoyed a creed show until you have had the opportunity to see them up close...the first time scott came on our end, i think my heart stopped...mark really seemed to be enjoying himself, altho i cried when they did lullaby, he was VERY somber during that one...and i missed scott playing the guitar, we were in the process of hoisting a large woman over the rail as she passed out (the stepmom of the kid standing with us), her daughter ended up joining her during the encore...we had a really great crowd around us, with the exception of the ones to jen's left...i was ready to deck either her or her male 'friend', who kept elbowing jen in the head...but i swore i would not jeopardize my spot on the rail...after the show, jen and jeanine bought their shirts, and we finally met up with scott and tara, and went back to the hotel,, trying to find somewhere to eat and drink...well, we ended up getting to the bar just after the kitchen closed, so we paid an outrageous amount for some stale chips and salsa, and of course, drinks...we were joined by two guys who had driven from muskegon, and were staying in our hotel...last call came, and we ordered drinks, then jen and i ran to the 7-11 to get some beer, and ended up buying a bunch of food that no one ever ate...we went back to the hotel, and partied some more...by the time tara and scott left, we were all ready to pass out, and we did! i did manage to get my creedquest done, jen had the laptop there...it was so much fun to meet up with everyone...this was an experience i will treasure forever...i HIGHLY recommend seeing creed up close, and with a group of people you KNOW you'll have a great time with...(and i bet this is over the line limit too!) _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
