Why do people insist on including me in something I had no part of.  Kim, not once did I respond to anything you posted....I spoke only to Michele in reference to her posts about Debbi...not you, never you.

But now that you've dragged me into it, I will say that yes, you did sound "scolding" and perhaps that's because you're a mother....but you're not her mother.  Nor am I.  I am, however, a mother myself, of two teenage girls...the younger of the two was a member of this list when she was just 12 years old...but one thing she's been taught is that you don't have to mimic all behavior that you see around you.  Therefore, if someone else choses to use language that we might not find acceptable, doesn't mean she's going to automatically pick it up.  If you teach your children your own version of "right and wrong" then what they read on a discussion list...what they hear on the schoolbus, or any place else, for that matter, won't effect them.

This is for Keith, Lee, Madeline, Jen, Veronica, Dawn, Michele (#1, not #2)
and Ross, as well as anyone else who may have taken exception to any of my
postings.  You know, you all are right.  I do not know Debbi personally and
I always meant to direct my postings at the only part of her that I was
familiar with, which was HER POSTINGS.  I did not mean to insult Debbi, I
never used harsh words or namecalling and I never "reported" her to anyone.
I emailed her directly one day to simply ask her to "tone down" her language
a bit, because I have a fifteen year-old son and a fourteen year-old
daughter and I just think that they need to be able to express themselves
without all of the expletives and that they sound more intelligent and
educated when they do not use all of the slang and cursing.  Debbi shot
right back at me with her sharp tongue (fingers) and indifferent attitude.
I felt as though I was just "holding up a mirror" for her to see herself a
little more clearly with my next couple of postings regarding her language(
and yes, I MAY HAVE sounded scolding or preachy, because I am a Mom and I
sometimes come across that way).   But you ALL are right, I suppose that I
sounded Judgemental and "Prudish".  Then, YOU ALL held up the mirror for me
to see myself more clearly, and I have. I offer my apology to one and all
for anything that I posted that may have been taken as pious or
condescending or insulting.   I am only on this list because I am a Creed
fan and I am interested in what is going on--not to screen it for unfit
language or content not to insult anyone.
