================================================ Subject: NCR: Soulfix & Butterside Down From: To: Date: Mon 28 Jan 2002 02:25:18 EST ================================================ I went to the Chicago Cubs' sports bar last night, Cubby Bear North. They usually have some decent cover bands playing but I rarely go. But this weekend they had 2 bands who weren't covers, so at Ross's recommendation I went to see Butterside Down. Soulfix was the "warm up" band, and I was prepared to be bored. I was BLOWN AWAY by their music. Awesome. I could meet the line limit just talking them up, but I won't. Let me just recommend that you all keep an eye (or ear) out for them, because they're going places. Their website is www.soulfix.com. Butterside Down was great also, but not as hard as Soulfix. The guys were cool though, they were laughing and joking around. There was a bachelorette party at the bar, and the band let a few of the girls up on stage to dance with them. They played a few covers too, along the lines of Seal's Crazy, and Sweet Home Alabama. It was a pretty good mix of music, and they played it all very well. So thanks to Ross for convincing me to go. I had a blast and found two new GREAT bands. If any of you decide to check them out, let me know. I'd love to hear what you think.
