Yes it is really a co-operation between Metallica and the rapper JaRule. The track titled "We Did It Again" will be released by Ghetto Stories, a hip-hop compilation by Ruff Ryders producer Swizz Beatz. The Metallica track will be the only mega-rock tune on the album, which will also feature Ronald Isley, Shyne and others. On the track, the hitmaking MC (see "J. Lo Teams With Ja Rule Again For Remix Disc" ) raps over two 12-bar verses loaded with the band's patented crunch, chug and wallop. The rest of the song is instrumental and does not feature vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield, who was in rehab when the mix was recorded last August. The song might be somthing similar to the version of "For whom the bell tolls" Metallica did together with DJ spooky on the Spawn soundtrack. Other similar projects done by Metallica includes people like Moby, Orbital and Marianne Faithfull My personal opinion of this is that it's a pretty cool idea. The band have expressed their desire several times in the past to work with legends like Dr. Dre and Snoop. I'd have rather seen a collaboration with one of THEM, but this will still probably be worth listening to.
