I didn't like Weathered the first time through. There. I said it. But I did something revolutionary: I listened to it a few more times and now I must say I really like it. Human Clay will live on in my mind as Creed's finest work to date, but I look at Weathered as a Two Act Play, separated between the fifth and sixth songs. Act One: Here's what the world sees of me from the outside looking in, Act Two: Here's who I really am. Scott really puts a lot of himself into his lyrics and in the first part of the album he tackles a lot of external issues, later on he reflects on how it all continues to shape him as a person and the way he deals with this thing called life. Of course, that's just my opinion. I think it's every bit as organic as Human Clay... it just took a bit more getting used to.
