================================================ Subject: creed in Houston last night From: "Sandy Carter" To: Date: Tue 22 Jan 2002 19:08:43 -0600 ================================================ Hey, just wanted to give you all a report from the Houston concert last night. Creed seemed so fresh and they sounded & looked great. The playlist was the same as what someone else posted a few days ago, only the didn't do "Signs" and they added "Lullaby", which is really a pretty song belted out live, by the way. They also did "Don't Stop Dancing" in a sort of acoustic way, and it was, to me, better than on the CD. (I generally don't like orchestrations, choirs, etc.) All in all, they sounded excellent. The visuals were great, the stage set up was classy, and I hope you won't mind if I let you see for yourselves what I mean. The pyro was really powerful and it was done even later in the show. The only tiny negative I have to report is that Tantric was a disappointment to me, I know they are rather mellow, but to me they seemed to lack energy. But this is a personal perception issue. I don't think their mix was right, they just sounded muddled. Also they also looked like they were....I don't know....rumpled? dirty? I know that it's a popular look among rock artists, but it was not appealing to me. Help me out, what's the look called? I am thinking it's not called grunge anymore. Anway, maybe it's because Creed looked so good, I don't know. And Virgos was better than I thought. I'd buy their CD. And Brett looks like he's bulking up, he was wearing a sleeveless shirt, and I don't know if it's just me, but his arms look bigger. But he could stand to lose the hat. SS wore the usual black shirt, shiny silver pants. Mark had on all black, Virgos tshirt on. All in all, if any of you are waffling on whether or not to find tickets to go, I will just tell you that as much as I hate to support the scalping industry, the tickets were very much worth it, every penny, I would say I got the better end of the dea.. This was my second time to see Creed live, and while the first one completely surprised me in how good they were and how much I liked them live, and what a great show that was, this one surpassed even that experience. Bordering on religious experience. Hope everyone gets a chance to catch them.
