Scott Stapp of Creed has acknowledged that he has sought to retrace many of Morrison’s footsteps. Stapp went so far as to move “to Tallahassee, simply because his hero Jim Morrison had lived there for a time.” _________________ Hrmm... Lots of people live in Tallahassee. Are they all demon-possessed? Seriously, there is a qualitative difference between artistic influence and personal influence. I have seen nothing in Scott Stapp to suggest that he has allowed Jim Morrison's defects of character to influence him on a personal level. If that were the case, chances are Scott would be dead or at very least on a path of destruction that he would not be able to keep private given the extent of his fame. I don't know if Creed has a totally chemical-free policy (and I see nothing wrong with an occasional drink or two - apparently Jesus didn't either) but I do know that he maintains an environment around the band that he's not ashamed to expose his son to and that speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned. On a more personal note, I'd appreciate it if you'd keep this sort of one-sided Christian alarmism to yourself. It profits no one and without proper investigation. You merely took a slew of quotes out of context to swing them into agreement with your argument. To put it in terms you're sure to understand, this sort of propagandizing violates a little-known commandment about not bearing false witness against your neighbor and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out that it's slanderous to the point of raising a few legal eyebrows. Please remember before pointing fingers at others, that you're far from perfect and therefore have little room to point fingers. To illustrate this point, I'll kindly direct you to Luke 18:9-14, which states: 9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10 "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about[1] himself: `God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' 13 "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, `God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' 14 "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
