It's a new system they've implemented.  Now, the first time you go to sign in (after the change) they'll request that you enter your e-mail address into a bar for confirmation.  When you do, you get sent a form mail... it's the same system that they have for password recovery... my bet is it was a quick and simple way to make sure the e-mail addresses being used to register were in fact real... as they'll probably be sending something out to those addresses soon.  Watch for it.  =)
Someone in contact with Dan says that the reason the mail is worded that way (trash reference) is because of Dan's sense of humor... and him being absolutely thrilled with the idea of being able to use it to it's fullest extent.

I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine, Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind
Human pride sings a vengeful song Inspired by the times you've been walked on
My stage is shared by many millions, Who lift their hands up high because they feel this
We are one We are strong, The more you hold us down the more we press on
What if you did? What if you lied? What if I avenge? What if eye for an eye?

Did you request your password?  When I first signed up, I got confirmation e-mail with user name and password from "the seeker".  Did you get your original confirmation?  If not, maybe they just got around to sending it to you.

dinah,

It took me a while, but eventually I decided to check the trash can.
Near the bottom I found a piece of paper that said:

Your Username: creedgirl3221@aol.com
Your Password:

Does that help?
