When I first heard of Creed:
Well, during my freshman year of high school, I was struggling with SEVERE depression.  I didn't trust ANYBODY, not even my parents, and pushed away many of my best friends.  It seemed like the only place I really felt wanted was at my church's youth group.  There I was unconditionally accepted and made to feel welcome.  At the second meeting of the year, a senior named Jeff started talking to me because he had noticed how distant I had seemed the week before.  He introduced me to some other kids there I didn't know.  At the end of the meeting he offered to drive me home, and I accepted.  From his caring nature I knew I could trust him, so on the way home I told him how lost I felt and how I felt isolated from those close to me.  By the time we got back to my house, I was crying my eyes out, and he wasn't even weirded out.  He gave me a hug and asked me if I had ever listened to Creed before.  I told him no, even though the name sounded familiar.  So he gave me his copy of My Own Prison, which he had in his CD case in his car.  He told me to listen to the song "My Own Prison" before I listened to the rest.  So I thanked him and went inside and put it in my stereo right away.  It was unbelievable, the words described EXACTLY what I was feeling.  It made me feel so much better, like I was no longer alone in the world.  That Monday at school I gave him back his CD, and then after school I walked to the store and bought it.  Aside from numerous counseling sessions I went to, Creed helped me win my bout with depression.  I'm an INSANELY HAPPY junior in high school now!
